This resource is an outline of an introduction unit to argumentative writing. I have coupled that with the highly engaging topic of a murder mystery. While students are engaged in solving the crime at hand, they are also being introduced to and practicing the same skills that they need in order to write an argumentative essay; from start to finish.
 
This unit is, by far, one of the most successful and rewarding units that I have ever done with my students! Not only do the students love it, but I notice a great difference in their writing skills. Their writing vastly improves in such a short amount of time!
 
The resource included includes everything that you would need in order to teach this unit! There are a total of 20 resources linked in the Google Doc! I have also included my notes and important information on how to teach each resource. Essentially, I gave you all of the tools that you need in order to teach this/ start this unit tomorrow!
