Hello, Amazing Educators. It's me, Mary.

My first post. I thought long, and hard, about how I would start my blog. I settled on telling you a little bit about myself. I know this is not super original. However, I think that there is some value in getting to know who the writer really is. I also hope that you comment on this post letting me know a little bit about you.

I am originally from Michigan, but now I live in Kansas. I played soccer growing up, was active in all things 4-H, and even showed horses until my Senior year. I went to Central Michigan University. Fire up chips! Upon graduation, I knew I didn't want to settle around my hometown. I knew that if I went back there when I was just starting out, that I wouldn't grow in the ways that I needed to. That being said, I never imagined that I would move to Kansas, OR stay here long-term. How you ask? I was recruited at a job fair.

I always thought that I would go back to Michigan after a few years, but God had a different plan for me. I met my husband (Reid) two months after moving down here. And, yes, we did meet online! We dated for just under two years, and then we were married. We will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary this Summer. We just moved into our forever home and are absolutely in love! We now live on a farm in the middle of 20 acres. We have 1 dog (Moose), 3 Cats (Luna, Sunshine, and Smokey), and we just got baby chicks. They have yet to be named though.

We do not have any kids, but we want them. I figured that I would get that out of the way. We have been struggling with infertility for the last 5 years. So, some times I might post about that, because currently that is the biggest struggle in my life.

Moving on. Some fun facts about me. I love reading anything historical fiction, mystery, or romance. My watching habits also reflect this. My absolute favorite show is Criminal Minds, but I also love anything with a happy ending. My favorite way to take my coffee is black. Although, when I treat myself I always get a Scooters' Sugar Free Caramel Latte. I have an obsession with ice cream, and salt and vinegar chips. If I am going to go shopping, I am definitely hitting up TJMaxx. Lastly, my favorite thing to do is be surrounded by my friends and family. Which, now includes you.
